RIVER RAFTING                 FISHING                        BOATING

Whitewater rafting on the Chattooga River is one of the most unforgettable experiences in the Southeast. Designated “Wild & Scenic” by Congress in 1974, forever preserving its rugged river gorge. The Chattooga River offers breathtaking scenery, treasured whitewater all in an unmatched wilderness setting.

Chattooga Section 3 is great for ages 8+ and offers a more “mild and scenic” rafting adventure for kids and adults to experience swimming holes, Class II-III rapids and an exciting Class IV finish at Bull Sluice. Chattooga Section IV is for ages 12+ and picks up the pace with Seven Foot Falls and culminates with the infamous Five Falls, where five adrenaline-pumping Class IV rapids follow in quick succession. Both trips feature a scenic lunch along either a beautiful stretch of river or at the base of Long Creek Falls.

Some of Rabun County’s most popular fly fishing locations include: Tallulah River, Chattooga River, Soque River, Moccasin Creek, Warwoman Creek and Black Rock Creek, just to name a few. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources stocks 14 bodies of water in Rabun with trout, and those areas see the most activity                                              among fly fishers.

LaPrade’s Marina offers boat rentals on Lake Burton. We have a large inventory of pontoon boats for rent and offer half-, full-, and multi-day rentals.
