Recreation & Activities: Hiking in State parks and to nearly waterfalls, biking both on and offroad, rafting the Wild and Scenic Chattooga River, canoeing and kayaking on the many rivers and lakes, swimming, fishing, boating, snow-skiing, golf, wildflower photography, antique shops, art galleries, and flea markets.

Attractions & Special Events: Black Rock Mountain State Park, Tallulah Gorge and Tallulah Gorge State Park, Rabun Bald (Georgia’s second highest mountain), numerous waterfalls, autumn festivals, and close to Appalachian and Bartram Trails.

Recommended Local Restaurants: There are a variety of dining choices within thirty minutes of the B&B. Everything from casual to cuisine can be found.

In the Neighborhood: While Rabun Gap is a secluded mountain valley on the border of North and South Carolinas, it is in the center of mountain activity.  Within a short drive are: Clayton, Dillard, Helen - the Alpine Village, Blairsville, Hiawassee, the Highlands, Cashiers, Franklin, Seneca, Walhalla, Tallulah Falls, Toccoa, Batesville, Clarksville, and Sautee.

Daily Excursions: Plan to make us your home base for great day trips to: Asheville, Cherokee, the Great Smoky Mountains, Dillsboro, Blue Ridge, Pigeon Forge, Maggie Valley, many points on the Appalachian Trail, Athens, Stone Mountain, and Greenville-Spartenburg.

Moccasin Creek State Park

In west Rabun County on Lake Burton. A popular park for camping and fishing in a mountain/lake environment. Boat dock. Mountain City Museum of the Wars

A spectacular collection of relics of martial regalia, weaponry and historic items chronicling the wars and conflicts of the eras, Revolution to W.W.
